What to do before the OTA strikes?!

Im running MCR3,2 do i have to flash a RUU or stock rom before update?

but if i run MCR3,2 and then OTA will my phone get bricked or damaged?

Oh, i see. Why don't you just get it of the htc when it is out? why do you need to have it over the air?

calm down...

if u want to do the OTA route, flash the stock ROM and the stock recovery image. That will return ur phone to completely stock status. So much so that u will not even have the option to install update.zip manually, unless u flash the custom recovery image again. Then ur phone will OTA like any other stock HERO. If u want to be 100% safe just make sure u are flashing the correct stock ROM from the correct carrier. Check the pinned post for details.

otherwise, I m sure the 2.1ROM will show up here before OTA so u can custom flash it from here, and the OTA wont even show up.

Surely OTA or even 2.1 from HTC will mean the chances of rooting your phone again are going to be very slim. I know I don't want to miss all the fun when MCR 4.0 comes our way.
