GPS Failure on Hero

Having problems with the GPS on my Hero, everything has been working fine whilst on SenseHero 1.6 I then decided to try a 2.1 ROM and couldn't get GPS working so did a full wipe (data/Dalvik and SD Ext) then reinstalled SenseHero 1.6 but since then the GPS doesn't seem to be working. Also tried MCR3.2 Beta but that did the same as well.

I've tried Google Maps, Co-Pilot but do not get the GPS icon in the taskbar (have checked to make sure its enabled!!) but Co Pilot reports that a GPS signal has been found and is trying to determine position )have left it a long while (25 mins) and still no joy, wondering if this is hardware related.

Any help would be appreciated. Now in the process

EDIT: All sorted - reinstalled radio and all is working fine, phewwwww :)

Same issue.

Solve by installing the Official HTC RUU (2.73.405.5) then install Amon Ra then you know... the beginning ^^

I keep reading this. Can anyone explain why flashing a 2.1 ROM, which shouldn't aiui touch the radio, seems to cause problems which only reflashing the radio can cure? I'm just curious.

It's not only while upgrading to 2.1 ROM's, It's even when you upgrade to MCR 3.2 (It happened with me and many others)

Don't know what exactly can be the reason for this :)

happened to me without flashing ANYTHING. worked fine for >1week, then suddenly stopped. solved by reflashing radio.

This has been bugging me for the last few weeks!

I get this each time I have a Villain-based ROM installed. When I revert to MCR I ALWAYS have to reflash the radio to get GPS working again.

Seems like villain-roms does something strange to the radio.
