Guest _melchett Posted March 26, 2010 Report Posted March 26, 2010 For some reason my Pulse instinctively went in to a reboot cycle yesterday for no reason. I was hoping to hold of reflashing until 2.1 came out but unfortunately this was unavoidable. Having used the MCR 1.7 Pulse for months i thought i'd give the 1.7 Vanilla a go. Seems a bit faster (25mb ram free rather than 18) but my main annoyance is the music player. The volume, specifically volume up, button on my Pulse rarely works, so the onscreen volume control in the Pulse's player was brilliant. Also the full screen album art was a nice touch. I was wondering if anyone knew of a program that offers both of these. Tunewiki is ok, as is MixZing lite, but neither have both volume and album art. Any ideas?

Guest _melchett Posted March 26, 2010 Report Posted March 26, 2010 (edited) Mortplayer. Excellent app on WinMo is in the process of being ported across to Android. It's currently in beta but is already excellent. Cheers for the suggestion a quick google search threw up this: A U8230 running mort player. Is there a beta download anywhere - he/she seems to be using the volume buttons on the side rather than an on screen option, and the album art doesn't appear to be full screen. EDIT: just found the beta. Will try it after work. Edited March 26, 2010 by _melchett
Guest le_lutin Posted March 26, 2010 Report Posted March 26, 2010 (edited) Just tried Mort player. Got constant force closes when I opened it (it also force-closed the market and broswer processes). In addition, all my widgets were messed up and were replaced with text simply saying "Problem loading widget". Uninstalled mortplayer and rebooted but still had the message instead of the widgets. Had to trash all the widgets and replace them. Oh yeah, I'm on MCR 1.7 vanilla. Edited March 26, 2010 by le_lutin

It's a nice music player that seems to work the way I want it to, instead of the way the stock one wants to make me work.
Guest HunteronX Posted March 26, 2010 Report Posted March 26, 2010 (edited) Read First. If you're not using Apps2SD, ignore this, and sorry but I don't know the answer to your problem. The apps on your ext partition for Apps2SD aren't being recognised - you'll either have to reinstall everything again, restore your apps and market data with Titanium Backup, if you've made a backup of them, or restore a BART backup if you have one. To avoid this problem don't remove the SD card when using the phone - only in recovery mode, or when its off. Edited March 26, 2010 by HunteronX
Guest igor_anta Posted March 26, 2010 Report Posted March 26, 2010 Wohooo, first post:) As for the music player recommendation try MixZing, I use it and it has a great widget and a load of options that seem like they might come in handy. Cheers.
Guest Azurren Posted March 26, 2010 Report Posted March 26, 2010 (edited) Is there any way to completely OBLITERATE the default android music player?!! I hate it! I'm sick of it playing my music whenever I plugin my headphones or run any app (Or press the "play" button on the youtube app) :) Used to be a love hate relationship now I'm looking for a way to get away with murder. (I have found a workaround whenever it gives me grief but it takes the pee pee having to do it every time) Edited March 26, 2010 by Azurren

It appears that the app needs root access and I'm not quite ready to do that yet :) Thanks for your help tho. Lucky I figured out the work around tho otherwise it would be unbearable.

Trust me, don't worry about flashing your phone. I've flashed my phone(i do a lot of theme editing)about 50 times(i know that's not good, but I break a lot of things), you're not going to break any thing.
