How do you increase the ringtone volume - "Loud" wouldn't be heard from behind a wet paper bag?

Try using a different ringtone - mine works just fine with most, some .wavs are too quiet though

You might want to edit the profile as well and check the ring volume in there. When mine is set to loud I can hear it across the house. Madukrainian is right though, the wav file you choose can make a big difference.

I found this too - couldn't work out how to get around it, so I ended up importing the WAV files into Goldwave, increasing the volume in there, and dumping them back to the phone again.

Nice n loud now ;)

You might want to turn the volume down one notch though, I always get a bit wary of running any audio kit flat-out, as any hiccups or noise in the sample, when amplified, has the potential to damage the speaker.

Of course, this might just be me being weird!

Two Things...

1) running any kit flat out will knacker it but...

2) speakers often need breaking in, the cones are often quite stiff when new and can improve after a few hours of use (ie you phone ringing for a few hours or some music).

My sony Z7 had the worst speaker in it but it improved drastically after a couple of months. They used the speaker in the z7 for the vibrate too by sending a specific low frequency to make the speaker wobble!!! very poor...

I've posted some midi ringtones (normal ring ring types) that are quite loud without distorting.

If you are using a wav try normalising the file in an audio editor.

hope this helps
