Use Pulse as broadband dongle in linux

Hi all,

Does anyone know if it's possible to use the Pulse as a broadband dongle in linux? I saw on the wiki that it's possible using Windows with the 'Dialup' app which comes on the CD (http://wiki.modaco.com/index.php/Huawei_U8...e_as_a_modem.29), but it only mentions that linux can use the phone for dialup.

Anybody have a silver bullet?

Cheers,

Phil

Hmm, looks like proxoid would allow for web browsing, even though it's not quite the same as using the phone as a dongle - it runs as a proxy instead. That'd probably be enough for me, at least.

I'd still be interested to hear if it's possible to use the phone as a dongle in linux, tho, given that it can apparently be done in Windows.

Am I wrong in thinking that just allows dialup, then?

No I believe that it shares the phones connection.

(This did confuse me as well)

Yea I was hoping for the same thing. Searched liked crazy but couldn't find anything, seems like there's no modprobe alternative for osx ;)

If anyone does know an alternative method it would be seriously appreciated ;)
