Why are we not using latest roms like DXHJ1 to cook our custom roms

Dear Mentors,

I really need your help on this one.

Why are we not using new roms like DXHJ to cook our custom rom. I have a problem with battery draining very fast. It is said that DXHJ1 has the fix for it.

Where can i find customs cooked roms with DXHJ1

i'm using Ocks latest premium build (PDA=DXID1 Phone=XXHI5) i have all the power saving options turned on through Omnia fav hacks and i get 3 days of calls, texts and emails before i have to charge. If the phone is in standby and i do not call or text etc i get 5 days.

When i was using the stock 6.1 rom i was lucky if i got 2 days in standby

DXHJ1 has been arround since late 2008 so its not exactly new.

Try the Omnia fav hacks before you decide to flasha and see what results you get

As I understand, DXHJ1 isn't the newest rom:

DXHJ1 - DX Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam; H = 2008; J = October; 1 - > version number.

For example, PDhee uses this one which is newer:

DXIF1 - DX Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam; I = 2009; F = February; 1 - > version number.

dude, using ock's roms myself.... have looked in fav hacks and can't see anything to do with power saving.... can you detail where/what they are?... thanks

ok fave hackings. go to the 7th one across (the monitor with the moon on the screen)

i have selected

top row = all 3

2nd row = first 2

3rd row= first 2

and legacy GPRS in the bottom right corner

i charged my phone last night (took off charge at 9am) i have replied to 4 text messages, taken 1x 3 minute call and gone on opera mini for 5 min using wifi. i still have 100% battery life its 8pm here now

Using Ock's premium build as well - will look into the settings you have advised.

However, don't recognise the phone part you quoted? XXHI5?

Well im usng ock premium 23551 build according to version in settings it's running PDA i900XID1 PHONE i900XXHI5.

So far it is the most stable and reliable build i have used from any Chef.

The battery setting i mentioned are the ones i have always changed (trial and error) with other roms

Battery is the original one that came with the phone about 12 months ago. at the start i was running SPB mobile shell on the stock 6.1 rom but i had to charge it every night. The battery has taken some hammer since then as i use the phone a lot but like i said since i swaped to this rom it hardly drains at all.

Still not charged since the other morning and the phone is now on 90%.

Things like Games and GPRS drain the battery but you can feel the processor getting hot on the back when running something like monopoly so its no wonder.

Normaly i have the radio on or MP3's for an hour in the morning on my way to Uni. Then wifi and opera for 30 min. Send some texts and make some calls. Then radio or MP3's for an hour going back home. I can get 2 days use out of it like this and it will be down to 30% battery.

i do use S2U2 instead of the normal lock screen. i like the fact that i can lock the screen with a button press but also think it saves power as it doesnt have the screen lit for what seems like 10 mins once it has locked.
