Virgin Media Desire

got virgin media desire today

its NOT SIM LOCKED all sim cards work fine for voice/texts

however 3g data/edge/gprs ONLY works with virgin media / t-mobile sim cards

all other sim cards i dont allow or register DATA.

suggestions?

Is this maybe due to APN settings rather than some kind of Lock?

My solution was to use the other thread.

1) make a gold card

2) install generic htc desire firmware from the thread.

works great now.

shame virgin have gimped the mobile from the start.

Hey,

when you did this did you get rid of the virgin start up animation, i completed the gold card method and completed the update with no hitches but they still appear how stupid.
