Someone please help me on this one ......

My friend's Omnia i900 wont detect any networks and the phone automatically turned off and will never enable again no matter what he does or I do either way. I decided to flash it with the M2D2 ROM but something went wrong. Firstly the phone keeps disconnecting whenever I connect it to the USB but if I plug in mine (same SGH i900), it connects and stays connected till whenever I decide to disconnect it. I tried to HARD RESET it but it keeps saying that PHONE IS OFF and that I cant hard reset with the phone turned off, but then it still refuses to turn on. I have already the Samsung modem driver and MS Active Sync 4.5 and both are working perfectly with my Omnia but not my friend's. Well, somehow I managed to keep my friend's own connected and restarted it in readiness for the flashing. Unfortunately, power went off and I had to start it off my laptop battery power. When the ROM exe said PDA FOUND, I clicked on START and then nothing else happened. it stayed that way until the laptop battery drained completely (lasted about close to 2hrs) then I was forced to shut down the laptop and disconnect the phone.

Then comes the problem. Now whenever I turn on the Omnia (my friend's) it just shows the first Samsung Omnia screen and simply stays there for ages. Nothing else happens. Have I bricked it or something? What do I need to do to resolve this? I am thinking that something aint right with the USB of the Omnia.

I need your help PLEASEEE!!!

Thank you in advance.

Yes I am sure that I have followed the instructions I found about flashing in a new ROM. Downloading the original Samsung Rom now and will retry the flashing. Will post feedback once I have retried it. Thanks for the link Toldo

Is this the first time your friend's phone being flash by custom firmware? or any firmware?

That happened to me. Samsung replace my Omnia. The replacement Omnia does not have problem, even one time, while flashing my phone got disconnected in the cable. I just reflash again.

I think there are some samsung manufacture defect. Bring it back to service center. Dont tell them you flash it, it will void the warranty. Just tell them this just happen.

Just my two cents...

What ROM? Many ROMs require you to tap the top left corner (if you are getting that far). Also, at last resort when it wont turn-on take the battery out.

Maboo23, yes this is the first time my friend's Omnia is being flashed. He doesnt know anything about flashing a phone as he is not that tech savvy. tractor101, I was using the M2D ROM for the flashing.

Samsung Center is hella far from where we are. Well, I am about to reflash as I just finished downloading the original Samsung ROM. Will report back.

Thanks guys.. I appreciate.

Is it still in warranty?

Because, i am not sure if its really a hardware problem.

Try to reflash.

I second maboo23's suggestion. Don't worry, your phone should be fine if you can still see the Omnia logo. If it's no longer under warranty, try to reflash on a different computer, with all the necessary drivers/software installed. An XP-running laptop with charged batteries (both the laptop's and your Omnia's) is the safest method. Read up Sector's guide and Angel's supplement to see if you've missed out anything.

Hope you'll get the Omnia up and running soon!
