Will 2.1 support wifi tether ?

I am eagerly waiting for the 2.1 ROM as everybody on this forum.

Will wi-fi tether be available on the 2.1 ?

Or the two are not related at all ?? I was just wondering because I am really missing the wi-fi tether feature (for using my ipod touch)

It was available within days on N1 but on pulse the wait seems to be really long :P

Does anybody have any idea about this ?

Don't get your hopes up there is still no concrete guarantee we will get 2.1, what one or two staff posting in the company forum is not set in stone.

Wifi tether needs to be programmed to support the pulse. I don't think the 2.1 release will make the least bit of difference.

Isn't wifi tether open source? Perhaps someone on this forum could have a look at it.. Maybe an easy fix :P

There are quite a few videos on youtube from MWC Barcelona showing 2.1 runing on Pulse / U8220.

So we're getting 2.1 alright.

Have you tried PDAnet? There is a paid and a free version of the app. I have the paid version and it works flawlessly.

It doesn't do what the op wanted/needed at all.. Wifi tether actually turns your device in to a wifi router. (PDA Net doesn't even use wifi :/)
