Guest shenshang Posted April 4, 2010 Report Posted April 4, 2010 delete "HTC_IME.apk" in /system/app and then paste the 2 apk's from the archive to that directory.
Guest TheRealMac Posted April 4, 2010 Report Posted April 4, 2010 have 3.2 modoca rom. doesn't work for me, "adb push"ed them to /system/app, now I get FC of com.htc.androidime (not shure about that extactly :P )
Guest Xtiro Posted April 4, 2010 Report Posted April 4, 2010 I'm on 3.2 and tried adb rm/adb push and now the keyboard is FCing on me. I can get to the settings but that's all. To be fair I haven't much experience with adb so it's possible I messed it up.
Guest Roonil Wazlib Posted April 4, 2010 Report Posted April 4, 2010 have 3.2 modoca rom. doesn't work for me, "adb push"ed them to /system/app, now I get FC of com.htc.androidime (not shure about that extactly :P ) Ditto!

Guest TheRealMac Posted April 4, 2010 Report Posted April 4, 2010 it reads that you need 1.6+ because of Voice Input for it, damn. Who actually uses that "feature"?
Guest shenshang Posted April 4, 2010 Report Posted April 4, 2010 it reads that you need 1.6+ because of Voice Input for it, damn. Who actually uses that "feature"? me, when writing a LONG LONG text, which is like all the time XD
Guest Xtiro Posted April 5, 2010 Report Posted April 5, 2010 it reads that you need 1.6+ because of Voice Input for it, damn. Who actually uses that "feature"? Yeah it worked first time on a 2.1 ROM.
Guest EbiEre Posted April 5, 2010 Report Posted April 5, 2010 Are the lags gone when you type fast in landscape mode? That is one of the biggest hero issue for me :P
Guest masterpfa Posted April 5, 2010 Report Posted April 5, 2010 Great keyboard just installed, but the lag seems to have gone, will see how it fares after a few days! Running CyanogenMOD for Hero :P
Guest shenshang Posted April 5, 2010 Report Posted April 5, 2010 Are the lags gone when you type fast in landscape mode? That is one of the biggest hero issue for me :P very very very tiny bit of lag with haptic feedback on, but it's barely noticeable.
Guest carbonyle Posted April 5, 2010 Report Posted April 5, 2010 have 3.2 modoca rom. doesn't work for me, "adb push"ed them to /system/app, now I get FC of com.htc.androidime (not shure about that extactly :P ) the right way is: ./adb install -r ./Desktop/htc_ime_jonasl_lowres_19 -r option stand for reinstall (since it's normally already installed (SenseUI ROMs)
Guest qpop Posted April 6, 2010 Report Posted April 6, 2010 I get C:\Users\qpop\Downloads\Android>adb install -r HTC_IME.apk 1280 KB/s (4713296 bytes in 3.593s) pkg: /data/local/tmp/HTC_IME.apk Failure [iNSTALL_PARSE_FAILED_INCONSISTENT_CERTIFICATES] which sucks.
Guest shenshang Posted April 6, 2010 Report Posted April 6, 2010 I get C:\Users\qpop\Downloads\Android>adb install -r HTC_IME.apk 1280 KB/s (4713296 bytes in 3.593s) pkg: /data/local/tmp/HTC_IME.apk Failure [iNSTALL_PARSE_FAILED_INCONSISTENT_CERTIFICATES] which sucks. try this: adb remount adb push HTC_IME.apk /system/app
Guest qpop Posted April 6, 2010 Report Posted April 6, 2010 (edited) try this: adb remount adb push HTC_IME.apk /system/app Failed. Repeated forcecloses. Modaco 3.2. htc.android.htcime force close loop. Tried installing over the pushed version, more force closes, going to push htc_ime.apk from the modaco zip and hopefully will be ok. Any more ideas? would love to have the new keyboard edit: Forgive me if this is noobish but is it to do with MoDaCo ROM being ODEXed? it might be worth putting a WARNING that file may well not work on modaco 3.2 (which I assume most forum members are rocking. edit2: It has required a full wipe and reinstall of MoDaCo 3.2 to fix this, a reinstall with no wipe still had repeated forcecloses -just a warning! Guest masterpfa Posted April 6, 2010 Report Posted April 6, 2010 I have been using this keyboard for a few days now on CyanogenMOD for Hero. I had un-installed the previous Touch input and clicker, before using Astro File manager to install. Absolutely no problems what-so-ever this keyboard is definitely faster and more responsive than the previous HTC_IME i had been using and the voice input is a dream. :P
Guest JamesKing Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 Is this still the latest version of the keyboard? Should I have expected to have this by default with VillainRom 6.0? Cheers, James
Guest kendon Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 Is this still the latest version of the keyboard? Should I have expected to have this by default with VillainRom 6.0? Cheers, James vr6.0 had the modified htc_ime as an incremental ota update, not by default. the current version is v25.
Guest shenshang Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 why are you talking about vr6 on modaco....
