MoDaCo Hero Rom - WiFi fail

I have recently flashed MoDaCo 1.5.1 onto my mytouch 3G. Now I cannot get wifi to turn on. I would like to so that my internet can g a little faster, and well, so I know i have a great connection in the basement of my home. When you go into settings>wireless controls the wifi option says "unable to start"... What do I do? Am I suppose to install a WiFi radio into my phone or am I needing an upgrade for MoDaCo hero Rom?
