Problems with a Pulse

I got my T-Mobile Pulse back in January but I'm starting to regret it, I've been having some really weird problems. Firstly a few weeks ago it started randomly rebooting while I was using it, then it starting doing it more frequently, there was no pattern with any particular app that I was using at the time, it was at random. After a while it was doing it every time I used the phone so yesterday I did a clean install. I now have nothing but a clean T-Mobile rom (with December update). But it's still doing it, not as frequently but still very annoying, still does it several times a day. I've tried a couple of things like taking the battery out and back in again, switching off the phone and letting it cool but nothing seems to help.

My second problem isn't a major now but I'll share it anyway, sometimes when I text someone it won't send the message once, it may send it twice, three times or more. This not only annoys my friends but could costing me money if I ever change sim card, it did this before when I restored it to factory settings, I haven't heard from anyone moaning about it since so maybe it's be fixed.

Anyone else had these problems? If I can't fix this rebooting problem I'm taking it back, it's still under warranty and I'm not putting up with this nonsense.

I had the rebooting problem too, and a few other very weird problems like this:

After flashing several boot.img's (for testing purposes -> multitouch) I noticed that my Pulse refused to run any apps that were installed on the SD card, not even a ext repair could fix this.

So I restored my nandroid backup, but that didn't resolve the problem either, so I wiped everything an re-flashed the 1.7 MCR. But now it didn't only not work, but it refused to play mp3 files too!

I reflashed it ~5 times, but it didn't solve the problem.

After I applied the dec update and re-rooted it, everything was fine again ... weird :P

I didn't solve that reboot problem either, but it didn't happen to me again after I reapplied the dec update.

Greetings,

BigBear

Well glad to here that I'm not the only one that's been experiencing these problems, do you think it's worth try to take it back and get another one, it'll be difficult to prove it because knowing my luck it'll be fine as soon as I start showing them it. Guess I'll try again, what's the best way to of putting it how I got it without using unofficial roms, don't want to give them more excuses to reject it if I do take it back.

Hmm I wouldn't take it right back, just try to reapply the December update.

Just download it, copy the dload folder onto your SD card and goto System -> Storage -> SD Card -> Upgrade

After that your phone will be totally unrooted and uncustomised.

Ok I'll try that and post back the results, thanks.

On another note if you root your phone does it void your phone's warranty?

[...] it void your phone's warranty?

Yes I think so.

That's why you should apply the dec update and thus restore the factory settings.

Yeh that's why I was scared of rooting it even before I started having these troubles, my phone is installing the December update again now.

Well it worked for a few days but now it has started again :P Not quite sure what to do now, any more ideas?

Edit: Great I rebooted while I was playing a game and now the game is corrupted and unplayable, getting more annoyed with Android by the minute.
