Guest -Wii- Posted April 6, 2010 Report Posted April 6, 2010 some of you are suggesting it won't but from what T-mobile have said to me and many others is that it will arrive eventually
Guest xangma Posted April 6, 2010 Report Posted April 6, 2010 some of you are suggesting it won't but from what T-mobile have said to me and many others is that it will arrive eventually I was on Twitter drunk the other day and asked them. They said something to me and I posted it in a 2.1 thread. It was positive I think.
Guest xangma Posted April 6, 2010 Report Posted April 6, 2010 Also: from a chinese forum We Do not worry, T-mobile Pulse 2.1 has been out, according to plans submitted on April 1 Council test, when the test finished, have to wait Council approval of the plan on April 10, that case is estimated that on April 20 Recently, the 2.1 version will be released in www.huaweidevice.com on. 我已经在用了,呵呵,感觉还行,就是有点慢。 I have spent, huh, huh, feel good, that is a bit slow. 不过,习惯了也就OK了。 However, used also OK.
Guest david_dawkins Posted April 6, 2010 Report Posted April 6, 2010 Also: from a chinese forum I'll have whatever he's having
Guest jmmL Posted April 6, 2010 Report Posted April 6, 2010 Also: from a chinese forum Do you have a link to the thread? Just in case there are other tidbits on the same forum.
Guest feelmychi Posted April 6, 2010 Report Posted April 6, 2010 I asked them yesterday on twitter and was given the following response: Hi Alex, there will be an update for the Pulse. No details of dates yet but as soon as we know we will tweet. Thanks So basically, we know that it is coming, but as has been confirmed about 100 times over now, Huawei/T-mobile need to stop being so bloody lazy and get their act together. feelmychi

Guest MarcusHenrique Posted April 6, 2010 Report Posted April 6, 2010 http://translate.googleusercontent.com/tra...eggabecdHBeK_ow OMG, trying to understand that forum gave me headaches.
Guest flip360 Posted April 9, 2010 Report Posted April 9, 2010 although a great phone for the money i am sick and tired of waiting for Huawei to roll out the f***ing update, come on, apple will make phoneOS 6.0 before we get 2.1 .!. **** programers.
Guest deadphill Posted April 9, 2010 Report Posted April 9, 2010 Please watch the language. Cheers Phill
Guest twrock Posted April 10, 2010 Report Posted April 10, 2010 Also: from a chinese forum 我已经在用了,呵呵,感觉还行,就是有点慢。 I have spent, huh, huh, feel good, that is a bit slow. 不过,习惯了也就OK了。 However, used also OK. Far be it from me to claim I completely understand all the nuances of the Chinese language, but that translation doesn't give a good feel for what is being communicated. Try this: "I'm already using it, haha, feels alright, but it's a little slow. But after getting used it, it's OK." But, I don't really understand the anxiety that people are experiencing while waiting for this update. I've got a good phone, it's working well (a few annoyances, but I don't suspect the 2.1 update will fix those), so what's with some of the anger and entitlement I'm seeing in these forums? Some people really need to relax a little and find something constructive to do. ;)
Guest flip360 Posted April 10, 2010 Report Posted April 10, 2010 (edited) dont get me wrong, the phone is excellent, and i have plenty to do besides waiting for an update, but i am annoyed when a company of that magnitude cant solve its update on one or two phones. Thats preeeety constructive (NOT) for me ;) Edited April 10, 2010 by flip360

Note that they don't have to update the device at all. The device was sold as a 1.5, so they are updating it "out of the kindness of their hearts"
Guest flip360 Posted April 10, 2010 Report Posted April 10, 2010 (edited) "out of the kindness of their hearts" HAHAHAHA, nice one Azuren ;). i was wondering why didnt they just gave it away free to people like us "out of the kindness of their hearts"? Edited April 10, 2010 by flip360
Guest klutsh Posted April 10, 2010 Report Posted April 10, 2010 so they are updating it "out of the kindness of their hearts" Nope, they are updating it as Google have told them they have to for the US Market. Apparently even the G1 is getting a 2.1 update. Although from what I have read not all features will be available to all phones, so I don't expect the animated wallpapers etc.

Although even if it lagged it would have been nice to see ;) Imo manufactures should have to update their device to the latest version every 6 months or so. Either that or open the source and allow their device to run a generic version of android..
Guest klutsh Posted April 10, 2010 Report Posted April 10, 2010 open the source and allow their device to run a generic version of android.. That would be the prefered method ;) 100% GPL based OS and Drivers...

If it happens it will happen open the source and allow their device to run a generic version of android.. The personalisation from manufactures are similar to a customisable theme being applied, except they have been integrated at source (WHY???). Surely having these as an option/app would make sense (no pun intended) for all, easier implication from the like of HTC, Motorola, Sony and Samsung when ever the OS is updated and reduced development costs. But then again do they want this? ;) Edited April 10, 2010 by masterpfa

Some people really need to relax a little and find something constructive to do. ;) For me I gambled on the Pulse, never having owned an Android before I thought it would be a good way in. The phone I'm really pleased with, but I need Voice Dialing for when I'm in my car and access to multiple Google Accounts, work and home etc I know an update would allow me to do these things, but not knowing if/when it is coming is a little frustrating. It also does some random stuff when connetecd via Bluetooth to my car, like mute the stereo when I get a text, to get the music back I have to make a call ;) I don't care if they don't release the update, but let us know so we can move on.
Guest bbevan Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 Oh and if I'm going to be keeping the phone I want to get a clear protector for it, really cheap via ebay....
Guest robot1000 Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 Oh and if I'm going to be keeping the phone I want to get a clear protector for it, really cheap via ebay.... tbh It's unnecessary, as the Pulse has a glass scratch-resistant screen and a protector could have a negative effect on the sensitivity of the touch screen
Guest le_lutin Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 tbh It's unnecessary, as the Pulse has a glass scratch-resistant screen and a protector could have a negative effect on the sensitivity of the touch screen Agreed.
Guest bbevan Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 tbh It's unnecessary, as the Pulse has a glass scratch-resistant screen and a protector could have a negative effect on the sensitivity of the touch screen Agreed, its more for back so when I put it down onto my desk, car etc it doesn't get scratched and start to look tatty, I'm really hard on my phones, to heavy handed ;)
Guest Daz555 Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 tbh It's unnecessary, as the Pulse has a glass scratch-resistant screen and a protector could have a negative effect on the sensitivity of the touch screen Glass? Are you sure or is it just rumour? I have read reviews which say it is a plastic screen.
