Guest xangma Posted April 6, 2010 Report Posted April 6, 2010 (edited) I will probably still keep my Pulse ... not sure yet. Just thought I'd say. I'm so sorry. It's not me, it's you. I hope we can still be friends. (When I say it's you, I mean the phone. Most of you forummers are lovely) Edited April 6, 2010 by xangma
Guest Rem1x Posted April 6, 2010 Report Posted April 6, 2010 See you on the other side, Xan, enjoy the new phone :P

But these are all dependent on apps and ROMS, which are going to be different for each phone. @xangma if you are getting a new phone why not check out the HTC legend, Desire or Nexus 1, unless you are getting the Hero at a good price (also depends if the other phones are available to you)

Yet both of the heros i have used only had the sense ui on the home screen.. Isn't the hardware pretty much the same between the pulse and hero? It wouldn't be much of an upgrade if that is what you are getting it for.. The hero has flash tho :P
Guest jmmL Posted April 6, 2010 Report Posted April 6, 2010 I must admit I'll be seriously tempted for a extra-contractual affair once O2 get the HTC Desire (as long as Paul works around the /system protection, that is). As others have asked - why the Hero and not the Nexus/Desire (or even Legend)?
Guest McSpoon Posted April 6, 2010 Report Posted April 6, 2010 I can't believe you're leaving us for a HTC Hero?!?! You dirty ho! Just kidding. :P Use the Hero as a phone, but keep the pulse as a dev-kit.
Guest xangma Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 To be completely honest it's cause I've got the hero for £176 and it's getting an update in like 10 days (apparently). I'm sorry =P I never meant to make you feel bad. I will give you reviews once I get it, given that the Pulse was my first Android phone =P
Guest BigBearMDC Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 Oh no, I don't want to loose one of my greatest supporters :( But maybe you could help me later with my Hero ROM port :P Farewell, my friend
Guest le_lutin Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 To be completely honest it's cause I've got the hero for £176 and it's getting an update in like 10 days (apparently). But the Pulse is getting an update in 5 days! (or 6, or 7, or 8 or...............)
Guest xangma Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 (edited) Yeah I know =[ Well I couldn't stomach taking a phone worth over £300 around with me firstly. If I drop it it's like dropping a life =P So I wanted something cheap and good. Unfortunately in my opinion, the Pulse is just cheap. It has too many annoying niggling bugs that reallllllyyyyyy annoy me. Say to phone someone I either press the green button or open the dialer, expcet it takes ages. Fair enough, it's quick, but not as quick as it should be. And when you get a call ... it takes ages to show who it is (and sometimes it doesn't show it at all). I could go on for a bit. I'm kind of expecting the Hero to be better =/ I hope for the sake of my money =[ Edited April 7, 2010 by xangma

I'm kind of expecting the Hero to be better =/ I hope for the sake of my money =[ I hear ya there buddy. Those are indeed annoying little quirks that make the phone less of pleasure to use than it should be. It's a hell of a lot of hardware and functionality for the money though, so I am still happy enough with it for a while longer. The Hero is indeed a very nice phone, hope it's a bit zippier than the pulse. My major gripe with the Pulse is the camera. It's not even better-than-nothing kind of bad. It's worse than nothing because you get your hopes up that the picture might turn out ok, only for a big blurry mess of a photo to appear on the screen. I'm actually beginning to wonder if my camera might be defective - that's how bad it is. Anyone know if the Pulse is available instore at T-Mobile? (I might check out a display model's camera to see how it preforms) Anyway, i'm getting off the main topic.... You've been a great asset on the Pulse forum xangma, so thanks for all your help.
Guest xangma Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 (edited) 'Nawww thanks guys. I didn't really think people would care. You're all awesome! @BigBearMDC, not sure if I'll sell it yet. The ones on eBay seem to be going for a pretty alright price. I'm so confused =P EDIT: Yeah it's a good price for all the hardware etc. I just think Huawei have annoyed me as a company ... in general. And the camera thing does annoy me. It works, just not well enough. My 2mp on my old w800i was awesome =[ Edited April 7, 2010 by xangma

Still no replacement for a camera, but definitely "better than nothing".
Guest _melchett Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 (edited) i know the feeling, i recently picked up a £60 Iphone 3g and have noticed how much lag the Pulse does have. I know i crowd mine with widgets but typing can be very annoying. However there are a number of aspects i do love about my pulse which is why i'm leaving it as my main phone, depending on 2.1's performance. Now all i have to do is explain to people why i legitimately need two phones....... :P EDIT: May i also thank you for the steller effort you have put in to the Pulse development!
