Call quality problem with B7610

Hi,

I am a new user and would first like to thank all the people here -this site has been an excellent resource to get my Samsung b7610 up and running.

Now, however, I have a problem: Whenever I make or receive a call, the person on the other end hears loud background noise. I do not hear it on my phones but I have tested it by calling other phones and it is almost always there.

Using the speakerphone option fixes the problem, but obviously I do not want to always use speakerphone.

I've been told that the noise is loud enough to make my voice almost inaudible.

I am running windows mobile 6.5

This is driving me crazy and I would also appreciate any advice on where I could get the phone repaired -I bought it unlocked and it is not technically for sale in the US.
