Guest passion_streak Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 hey guys this forum is awesome, its helping me a lot with my b7610. Now i have a question to ask WHICH IS THE BEST GPS SOFTWARE ? currently i am using google maps but it always require a Data connection and its costing me a lot. so any recommendations for me , I m from INDIA . May be you guys could share ur experiences with me . :P
Guest ttrevelian Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 I think it depends on which has better maps for your area or the area you plan to use it. I have used Garmin mobile xt on my last 3 devices and it works great (also it is the only one with usable Venezuela maps) I tried nDrive and I think is really cool one but again maps have no support at all for the areas i frequently travel to
Guest boyong Posted April 8, 2010 Report Posted April 8, 2010 For me, Garmin Mobile XT is the best. I've been using it in my 2 phones (i780 and b7610) and it works accurately. It takes me 1-3 mins to get a satellite range. One advantage of Garmin is it can work alone. Other GPS programs needs other programs like port splitter, gps gate, etc. in order to work. But as mentioned by ttrevelian, it could really depend on the availability of the map. The gps software is only as good as its map. If there is a garmin compatible map for your country, I suggest you get Garmin. If not, try the gps software where there is a map available for your country.

But Sygic navigation software has this map with 90% coverage and 950 000 interest points. Check here Sygic Edited April 8, 2010 by barki82
Guest darthveda Posted April 10, 2010 Report Posted April 10, 2010 Use Navicomputer (www.navicomputer.com), download the maps using the navimapper software which comes along with it. It supports openstreetmaps, just use the area you want to view, download, put it on storage card, and you are good to go. This has tracking features as well.
Guest Sumit Bhardwaj Posted April 10, 2010 Report Posted April 10, 2010 (edited) Use SatGuide SatNav, works really well for Indian roads. I am using it in Noida (U.P) and It can find routes anywhere in Noida and Delhi. Supports around 220 cities of India. MapMyIndia is also a good one, though I didn't like the interface much. For me SatNav works fine. Please note that both these software are paid ones (So you know what.... Ahem Ahem ;) ) Edited April 10, 2010 by Sumit Bhardwaj
Guest asbud Posted April 11, 2010 Report Posted April 11, 2010 (edited) In Indonesia.. i think Navitel is the best.. it uses the same map as garminXT.. but more speed & stability.. in B7610, Ndrive font is too small, garmin XT is to slow & much lag, Igo has cool Indonesian voice but the last updated map in Indonesia is 2008.. so i think Navitel is the best.. but the Indonesian Voice sucks.. i recommend using the english voice version. Guest Bert Meis Posted April 13, 2010 Report Posted April 13, 2010 I use Navigon MN7 on my Omnia QWERTY (B7610), and it works. Quick satelite fix and accurate. I can't tell anything about indian maps, but they seem to operate worldwide. You might want to try their 30 free trial version. Made me want to buy it. Navigon Grtz, Bert.
