why do i get an installation error (insufficent storage available) with so much free space?

/dev: 98116K total, 0K used, 98116K available (block size 4096)

/sqlite_stmt_journals: 4096K total, 4K used, 4092K available (block size 4096)

/system: 174080K total, 139224K used, 34856K available (block size 4096)

/data: 169728K total, 103408K used, 66320K available (block size 4096)

/cache: 133120K total, 1416K used, 131704K available (block size 4096)

/sdcard: 15043872K total, 8334224K used, 6709648K available (block size 8192)

if you're using a 2.1 ROM, it's one of the glitches, some people have managed to get it working by wiping dalvik cache via Amon RA's recovery menu.

yeah, using a 2.1 rom. but never heard of this insufficent memroy thing... it was one of the first things i tried to wipe the cache. didn't help.

guess have to live with it. :P

I would consider migrating the dalvik cache to the SD tho, if you have a fast SD (class6). i've done it and won a lot of spare space and I never noticed the change in terms of speed (there IS a change, but what you get in some sides you lose it in others, so it's almost the same)

Hi,

sorry to hijack thread but along similar lines, I'm about all out on internal memory and was wondering which route to go - from what you said I could move the cache, but also I can install apps to the SD card direct. I have heard that these have speed issues?

What would you guys recommend? I have a class 6 card btw.
