When the phone is in the dock it looks like hi-tech GPS unit. My only dislike about it is I thought originally it was going to have an FM transmitter to play the music via the car speakers. It does it via a built in Speaker intergrated into the back of the dock. Much louder than the internal speaker.

I love the way it attaches itself to my dashboard (the wood panel) without requiring anything to be glued or screwed into the dashboard. My phone connects to the bluetooth in the car so I am not really using the speaker, but it is a great device.
