Guest Willz Posted April 10, 2010 Report Posted April 10, 2010 I made an idiotic mistake. D: I was going through my applications, removing some I don't want, and I was clearing the cache on a lot of others that I use, and on random things. I ended up clearing it on the keyboard one, and probably another major one, which removed pretty much all of my numbers, and now won't let me access the Android Market. I've added most of my numbers back again, but when I try to sign into the Market through my Google account it says, "Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server. This could be a temporary problem or your SIM card may not be provisioned for data services. If it continues, call Customer Care." How can I fix this, please? And what else has likely to have messed up when I did all of this? ;)

Guest Willz Posted April 10, 2010 Report Posted April 10, 2010 Oh seriously? Dammit. I have a backup on my computer from when I first rooted my phone. Would that work? And what exactly would it replace that I have now? All my apps, messages etc.?

If you left data sync on then your contacts and calender should be in the could. However if you want to keep your apps, messages etc. You will have to make back-ups. I have never had this problem before and therefore do not know a fix (Wiping and reflashing would fix it though ;))
Guest Willz Posted April 10, 2010 Report Posted April 10, 2010 Okay thanks guys. Is there a way to just un-root/un-flash/un-hack, whatever.. because I have decided I'd rather just have the phone un-rooted really. Would that solve my problem too? If so, can someone give me a quick run down of how to do it please?

Apart from that on your sd card ;) Install the december update normally. No need to wipe as it will do that for you. So backup!

My mind has gone completely blank.. how do I even go about installing the December update? How big should that be, by the way? Because I went to download one from the Wiki, and it's like 64mb or something. I thought that seemed a bit big.
Guest Willz Posted April 10, 2010 Report Posted April 10, 2010 Oh, no problem. I took a wild guess, booted recovery mode and restored my backup that I made when I first rooted my phone. It all seems to be fine now, my contacts are all back, and I can access the store. My apps are gone and so are my text messages, but I'll get over that. ;)
