Is this how to root HTC Hero

Hey guys, I would like someone just to tell me if this is how to root my HTC Hero that is running Build number : 1.76.110.6

It's T-Mobile UK branded and is running Build number : 1.76.110.6, which is said to be needed to one click root the phone,

I don't want to mess anything up so does this method still work?

So I can just follow the steps on the unlockr, then install ANY ROM even 2.1 roms right?

**Also, can I use Amon Ra's HERO latest recovery instead?**

Yes that's the right place for you to root your phone and yes you can install any ROM and you can use Amon Ra recovery image.

So I do not need a special SPL?

If I follow that guide and I can flash the recovery image correctly and I can enter the recovery mode, this means that my phones rooted and is ready to flash any rom I want?

Yup! all you need is the recovery image, no need of special SPL.

Hey, thanks for ur help, going to start the process once my rom has downloaded, Im gonna use Legendroid 1.0.1 ;)

It's just kinda confusing with all the talk about different Radios and SPL stuff lol, I get lost at that point ;)

Just wondering, what rom are you running?

As I'm now undecided lol, I don't want to run a 1.5 rom, I want to try out 2.1, I'm looking for one that is stable and has good battery life, and all of the features that it should have, I found that Legendroid 1.0.1 has what I want except has poor battery life,

I've also seen VillainROM 5.2 RC which is supposed to be a very stable 2.1 rom and the creator says its the best 2.1 rom he has made.. So I'm kinda unsure on which to get,

Edit- Flashed recovery fine, now gotta find a 2.1 rom to use!

You're happy with the ROM? Tried out Villain 5.2RC, but in lack of Norwegian dictionary and some lag with the keystrokes I changed back to MCR3.2, but I just really wanna use A2.1!!!

Hey, yeah the roms great, I love the look of the legends new roise interface, flash works (although its abit slow, like on the stock 1.5), I havent really had any problems except the battery life isnt the best, it went from something like 95% to 56% over night in standby, which is abit crazy? ;)

I dont see myself changing rom any time soon until a newer legend build is made, I don't like the standard look of the Droid Eris rom etc.
