Headphones or Headset?

When I plug in my earbuds headphones on my B7610, the option pops up for "headphones, headset, TVout". The question is, what's the difference between the headphones and headset? Earbud type is considered headphones is it correct?

I think that headphones are just plain headphones and that an headset also has some kind of mic so you can pick up your phone with it and also talk.
