Will android 2 run like turd?

I was just wondering whether v.2 will run terribly on the pulse.

Not really possible to be entirely sure until its released, but as far as I know the hardware in the Pulse isn't quite up to the standards of most devices running 2.0/2.1, so it might run a little slow.. Just wait until Paul gets his hands on it, custom ROMs ftw ;)

Without the live wallpapers and the extra eye-candy 2.1 should run faster as it is far more optimized.

Although if it isn't I'm sure paul will sort it out ;)

At the moment mate it seems to be anybody's guess... Hopefully soon, but I'm sure I read March somewhere once... Obviously was wrong ;)

There are people other than Paul capable of recreating the custom firmwares, don't worry. That is, as soon as we get kernel source in addition to the ROM.

I had a G1 before the pulse. It is three times slower but the non official eclair runs acceptable on it.

It will surely run smooth on this device.

I'm sure i remember Mr Hankey running/bouncing/flying quite quickly ;)

Like people above say it has a better optimised core, and once you turn off live wallpapers (really not needed) i hope it will be quick.

Look forward to the rom when it arrives, but at least we have MCRs until that day is upon us.

HTC Hero seems to run 2.1 quite decent according to the reviews, and the hardware is +- the same.

CPU 528 Mhz 528 Mhz

RAM 288 MB 192 MB

I do not think this 100 MB will make it that much slower. It might get a bit laggy when running too much applications in background, but else I hope it will run fluently

There's also quite a few references on hiapk to it being released on 20 April. I couldn't trace the source of that information, though. Huawei have consistently said (since February or so) that it would be released "before May".

I agree but I'm pretty sure the ROM would be compatible, so the kind guys here I'm sure can whip something up from it. I'm quite certain that something, from somewhere, will come.

Glad you like it. The only reason I'd be tempted by another device is to get a better camera. The one on the Pulse is horrifically bad!

Well yh there is that. I never really used the camera on my E71 though, not sure this would be any different.
