Downgrade from 2.1 rom to Modaco 3.2: titanium backup problem

Hi all,

First, this is a very useful forum, thanks to all devs and users ;)

I have a problem with Titanium backup on my hero. I made a backup in the Villain 5.2 (android 2.1 based on sprint hero) to downgrade to MCR 3.2 ( faster and better ).

The problem is that I cant restore the entire backup. If I do, Sense crashes and restarting cause the phone not to start. It freeze on the htc boot screen.

How can i solve this? I would like to restore at least sms, call log, wifi keys and apps.

you cant as you are using 2.1 settings on the old 1.5 rom. Not compatible. Also, I've found that 2.1 villian rom is WAY faster then any 1.5 rom out there. make sure you use autokiller which will improve memory usage massivly.

Use Sprite Backup or MyBackup, these apps will restore your data even between firmware upgrades.

I think u CANT restore apps too. Cause Dalvik Cache has changed since Android 2.0?

Correct. All needs wiped and installed as fresh.

uhm, restore, then wipe davik-cache?

it works if you handpick the apps to restore and avoid any system apps or settings
