New android 2.1 phone by Huawei

I just found this, Vodafone V845

Manufactured by Huawei, the Vodafone 845 will be powered by the latest Android 2.1 software, and will feature a 2.8-inch touchscreen display (QVGA resolution), a 3.2 mega-pixel camera, Bluetooth 2.1 and WiFi b/g connectivity, and support for triband GSM/GPRS/EDGE at 900/1800/1900 MHz as well as dualband UMTS/HSDPA at 900/2100 MHz.

That's what I was thinking. I have 4 homescreens: Main with clock, widgets and most importants apps; Left with games; Right with mplayer and instruments appz i.e. guitar tuner; Back (yeah GDE cube homescreens) with all remaining used apps.

People knows that you can access everything from the main menu right? ;)

Blimey that vodafone one is ugly! Although it looks to have a track pad rather than a ball which i'd like on my pulse!

Agreed that it is ugly, but I could live with that. But a 2.8 inch screen?!! No way.

And isn't part of the idea of home screens so that you can get to the most important stuff without having to navigate a bunch of screens? 15 is way over the top. (Although, if the number of screens is user configurable like AdvancedLauncher, then why not?)

from info i gathered at huaweidevice forum, huawei pulse will have 2.1 update on Mid of May (yeah, delay again. they first said update will come on Mid of April but they revised again)

I remembered they said there will be a meeting, when they will decide if 2.1 can go out or not on the 20th of April.. I dont get it what is happening in the background.. This phone will be forgotten if it wont get an update soon.

I suspect it's always going to be "in a month or two" and then "sorry this device is no longer supported" It happens too often with fast moving and soon to be superseded tech devices. How manufacturers think it will encourage their customers to buy the newer devices is hard to fathom.

I wouldn't hold your breath, most manufactures are more concerned about producing new products than offering support for older ones. This has been the case across the board. If it is going to happen IMHO it will be the 2nd half of the year.

The pattern seems to be Custom UI (Sense, Motoblur etc) Delays

This man here is concerning myself with other things and hopefully sometime in the future 2.1 will appear and then be customised. ;)

But 2.1 is working on Pulse, it would be so small effort to kick it out.. Than the community would take good care. F**k
