Thats the point where Ubuntu won ;) Windows FAIL, Ubuntu WIN

/on

What differs Ubuntu from other Linux distributions? I don't use linux for about 8 years now, but I was looking for some Ubuntu screenshots now and I'm attempted to try it. Problem is I'm a heavy gamer, is there anyway 2day to make windows games work in linux? Otherwise I can create a partition to install Ubuntu. ;)

Maybe you've done something wrong. Try fastbooting recovery mode, wiping, restoring. Then do all the steps again, with attention. Make sure you mobile has the same kernel version of the rom/boot you're applying.

Ubuntu is much user frienlier than other distros, but not that much different. I've tried a lot of them, and Ubuntu made me leave ws.

You can try wubi. That uses ntfs, and you dont need to create another partition. You even can uninstall Ubuntu as it would be a windows application.

There are a lot of games what are running with Wine, but to be fair, its still a pain in the arse. Check out winehq. If you have question, just ask me.

Nice, I'll try it. But wubi won't run on windows right, it'll reboot into it's own? Cause that could be kinda laggy. And are there any cons using wubi instead of regular ubuntu?

Thank's for all the info, I'm going back to the bright side tomorrow ;)

As it uses a file as a virtual drive on ntfs filesystem, its slower, i would say 30% slower. Yes i'll reboot and the Linux kernel will run only. It uses windows boot menu. Its good to try Ubuntu out, its bad for everyday usage. Especially if something goes wrong to the ntfs filesystem. Than you're screwed. We can start an Ubuntu thread if there is a need.

Yeah just wanted to tell you that.

I did it to make it usable for the rest of the users, as U8220-6 users can flash the original ROM I think :-)

Greetings,

BigBear

where can I find original u8220-6- rom? huawei has removed it from their site, and it's nowhere to be found.

Hi guys

Edit: This ROM isn't working.

It's stuck at the bootscreen.

You can try it anyway if you want.

As you ma have noticed before there's a new U8220-6 ROM out.

I rooted it and you can download and flash it to your device here.

DO A NANDROID BACKUP BEFORE FLASHING!

Thanks to tmobilepulse, he found the ROM :)

PS: report your findings!

Greetings,

BigBear

Could you update the link please?
