You need to select a connection type on the phone. This appears automatically when the phone is plugger in.

If the notification has disappeared select Menu>Notifications>Charge Only (the default option). You then get 4 chioices:

Charge Only

HTC Synch

Disk Drive

Internet Sharing

Just pick the 2nd one............

THANKS GUYS I KNEW OTHER PEOPLE HAD SAME PROBLEM!

wondering if any one can help me?

ive got (sorry we have) HTC hero, HTC desire & HTC wildfire in our household, i think all running official 2.1 roms

we use a win7 pc and use windows live mail for our email client

when we use HTC Sync, version: 2.0.28 and set it up to sync with windows main identity i get the error message "syncronisation failed" every time

when we use HTC sync version 3.xxx i cannot even select contacts or calendar to sync

when i do this on windows xp net book it works?

a little frustraling that i have to only use net book to sync contacts?

cant understand why is this?
