Guest davrian Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 Hi, For a few days now i've been trying to find out how to change the generated password on the dropbear server. When I issue the 'passwd' command, I get the following output: # passwd root passwd: unknown uid 0 # passwd passwd: unknown uid 0 # I'm running the latest MCR on my GSM Hero, rooted and unlocked. I'm really stumped at this, and any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks ;) , Davrian

Guest zorm Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 Just use any Root Explorer or use ADB and pull this file /data/dropbear/passwd and change your password in that file and push it back. And in case it's not obvious, you probably need to restart the dropbear server after that. Simplest way is just to reboot.
Guest davrian Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 Thanks for the response guys ;) I've just done that, it all worked properly. Much appreciated! Davrian
