Guest SsBloodY Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 I am planing to try out the Windows 7 themes. But I am wondering between Throttle launcher and WAD. Which is more stable, faster, less memory consumer. Which is more customizable/easily customizable. With two word which is better.
Guest andrew.mazlim Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 You can't define "better" in all these issues, mate. More customized/good looking, is WAD. More stable/fast/"light", is ThrottleLauncher. I tested them both, as much as every possible UI. I turned back to M2D, better of all; if the v.5 of SPB Shell is nice, I'll give a try.
Guest Dr_StrangeTrick Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 Both are good and have their pros and cons. I prefer WAD but it has its quirks, you have to make separate themes for each resolution, no built in picture/photo viewer, no built in sms/email viewer and no OpenGL support but is is quick, if you dont like certain elements of a theme is quite easy to change and in low memory mode only takes approx 2Mb on QVGA. I have not done much with Throttlelauncher so I cant comment but I imagine it has its own quirks. Good luck
Guest Roshiel Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 I had the same doubt and I ended using the WAD2 theme because I found it a lot more customizable and reliable.
Guest chopperthedog Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 I think it comes down to is that our devices are graphically challenged with no acceleration. I did try the throttle theme for about 1min I could tell right away this not for the i910. You even see in the throttle video on an hd2 it has its little issues. Wad is more suited for our devices and once you fully learn the editing it all makes sense. My vote is for wad2 (And I am a former mobile shell user) good day.
Guest Sb. Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 I tried both themes and the throttle launcher is better, might have some lag sometimes but if you use free ram from sktools its really good and runs well, plus its "alive" you have changing pics etc whereas the wad theme except for lesscro's which I havent tried yet is dead and defeats the purpose for me. Try both and see,but as chopper said you have to fiddle around with both to get the full potential. Good luck!
Guest SsBloodY Posted April 18, 2010 Report Posted April 18, 2010 Thanks for replies ;). Some of you sad WAD some throttle launcher but I've decided to use this theme. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread...001#post6153001 It's a throttle launcher. But I like that it is developed very much. Has the windows 7 phone buttons and many more. It looks good I will try WAD too but first it will be the throttle launcher.

If you like that theme (personally, I hate it!), there is EXACTLY the same for WAD. Don't ask me for link, though... There is for WAD too, trust me.
Guest SsBloodY Posted April 18, 2010 Report Posted April 18, 2010 IF there is I will find ;) but why do you hate it. What are the cons of that theme. What makes you hate it?
Guest Sb. Posted April 20, 2010 Report Posted April 20, 2010 Its all personal taste but try using an ultra lite rom and Sktools using the free ram function with the throttle launcher theme and it will run sweet. Ive been using it for about 2 weeks with no issues.
