Guest Involver Posted April 18, 2010 Report Posted April 18, 2010 I've found this app, 'ROM Manager', which supposedly handles ROM switching and backup/restores. I was wondering if anyone has tried it and what their conclusion is... Worth trying or not of interrest? Here's the linK http://www.appbrain.com/app/com.koushikdutta.rommanager Rgds - David
Guest Wad3th Posted April 18, 2010 Report Posted April 18, 2010 I tried it, didn't work for me. When you download it, it asks you to flash the 'Recovery ROM' which I couldnt get to work, and to top it all off, it also screwed up my Super User Permissions, meaning I had to resort to re-flashing the official HTC ROM, then re-rooting my phone from there. My advice, stick with AMON RA's recovery, and keep all your custom roms and backups safe on your PC. Much easier and safer that way.

Guest vudiq Posted April 20, 2010 Report Posted April 20, 2010 I have the "premium" version, but it only gives access to CyanogenMod ROM 1.0 + GoogleBits and VillainROM 4.0 beta 2 (on HTC Hero). Flashing the ClockworkMod Recovery image worked for me, but, as mentioned in previous posts, Amon RA's Recovery (1.6.2) is IMO better (ClockworkMod Recovery allows to flash from a subdirectory on the SD card, but I usually have them in root folder).
Guest xTc is loVe Posted April 26, 2010 Report Posted April 26, 2010 Its much faster to flash ROMS with Clockwork Recovery because its not check the update.zip.............................. but i like Amon“s Recovery more! Restoring backups is easy enough from there ;-)
