Guest Willz Posted April 19, 2010 Report Posted April 19, 2010 Okay, so I noticed T-Mobile have absolute terrible tarriffs with only free weekend texts, and that kind of sucks for me, so I want to change to o2. But I was wondering if it can actually be done yourself, without sending it away or paying for a code from T-Mobile. And if I change to o2, will I lose my free internet for the first 6 months when I got my phone, or does that stay?

Thats the cheapest way, there is currently no free method. ;) http://android.modaco.com/content/t-mobile...now-s19-99-p12/ Edited April 19, 2010 by Samlock

And yes... if you use another another network, you won't get free internet from t-mobile (or free weekend texts from them either)

Have u tried phoning up and asking them for the Unlimted text + Internet for a £10 top-up each month? Thats what i think most of us have here on our Pulse's
Guest robot1000 Posted April 19, 2010 Report Posted April 19, 2010 Cheapest method is buying a Sim unlock attachment which costs about £3 from Dealextreme or ebay Pros - Cheaper then an unlock code - If phone breaks, then you can reuse it cons - Can't think of any

I thought it was £20 a year for 6 months of free internet.. but I got my first 6 months free when I bought my phone.

Orange do a similar deal, £10 top-up gets you 3000 texts and 100mb of Internet/month. I know 100mb isn't a lot, but its enough for what I use it for!
Guest bindi Posted April 19, 2010 Report Posted April 19, 2010 Yeh thats what i use, i'd recommend it, never had any problems with it Do you know what is it called? ismartsim/turbo sim/ x-sim...? there are so many of these. Also do you have to cut your sim or you are using an uncut version? Thanks.

Guest Richard_Arkless Posted April 19, 2010 Report Posted April 19, 2010 (edited) Question, will the network providers know that I got one of those unlock card things and if so what would be the worst they can do, block my phone so I cant use their network? Im new to hardware unlocking and am tempted to buy on cause im fed up with tmobiles pricing on things (prefer 02) will probably get on once my 6 month internet usage is up Edited April 19, 2010 by Richard_Arkless

When the Pulse was first release t-mobile were doing £10 topup a month to get _next_ months internet and text for free. Its worth giving their customer services a ring to see if you can change your plan
Guest Willz Posted April 19, 2010 Report Posted April 19, 2010 Alright, thanks for the replies everyone. I don't want to lose my 6 month internet deal I have on T-Mobile, so looks like I won't be changing to any other provider. So in that case, does anyone know where I could get a deal that would involve unlimited texts at any time, or during the week for a £10 top-up a month, please?

Well I got my pulse on a £10 a month contract (well £12.50, price goes up on my second year.. I got my pulse for free ;) But I get unlimited texts and internet and 300 mins a month. Perhaps you could give cust services a call and just see what they can offer you.
Guest Willz Posted April 19, 2010 Report Posted April 19, 2010 Well, I have no intention of going on a contract. I don't like being tied to anything like paying so much a month, that's why I like Pay as you go, so I can top up when I like, and when I do, I'd like to get some free texts with it then, and not just to use at the weekend. I'd rather not give customer services a ring either, I had to call them many times when I first got my phone as I had so much hassle, and it was such a tough job talking to them and trying to get my point across without them going onto something different.

Perhaps have a look at SIM-only 30 day contracts? That way you can get the good deals that contracts offer, but cancel at any time without penalty. ;)

I barely use my phone sometimes, but then there's others when I go text crazy, so that's why I only want free texts during the week etc.

That's all.. You see o2 only give their best deals if you do the exact same ;) it's just not called a contact ;) Look at us all advertising tmobile! Lol. I guess it's like preeching, we think tmobile is the best and we want others to believe ;) Go with whoever you want at the end of the day. Tmobile may not be the best for calls but they can't be beaten on internet.
Guest Willz Posted April 20, 2010 Report Posted April 20, 2010 Haha! Well, I have no objection to staying with T-Mobile, really.. I mean, the signal is SOMETIMES bad, but it's nothing I won't get over. It's just I really liked my deal with o2 for my old phone. I love the internet deal I have with T-Mobile now, it's perfect. All I want are some free texts at any time, whenever I top up by £10.
Guest brickedMyHuaweiU8230 Posted April 20, 2010 Report Posted April 20, 2010 (edited) Hi, how can an international user unlock the huawei u8230? I'm currently attached to TMN and would like to change my network. How could I do it? Would buying a Sim unlock attachment work? I have no clue ho the network locking is done. Is it software? Edit: from what I see, the http://www.unlock-tmobilepulse.com/ would work? Edited April 20, 2010 by brickedMyHuaweiU8230

Guest Willz Posted April 21, 2010 Report Posted April 21, 2010 Orange PAYG then, Dolphin package. ;) But, does that have the same T-Mobile internet deal I have now? I don't want to lose that, which is why I don't mind staying on T-Mobile, as long as I can somehow get some free texts for anytime, not just the weekend.
