Guest akhtar1817 Posted April 19, 2010 Report Posted April 19, 2010 Hi, I am running Modaco 3.2, I notice that when I have wifi switched on but not connected, there is a wifi icon in my notification bar, any ideas on how to remove this?
Guest jay8ee Posted April 19, 2010 Report Posted April 19, 2010 I'm not sure, it's pretty useful so I haven't looked into removing it.
Guest kendon Posted April 19, 2010 Report Posted April 19, 2010 - Added WiFi Status indicator, with kind permission of Andrew Schwimmer

Guest Dan Mullen Posted April 19, 2010 Report Posted April 19, 2010 Hi Dan, newbie to adb, can you tell me the specific commands please I can't remember the name of the file off the top of my head, but I know it has "schwimmer" in it. Go to the directory, list the files with "schwimmer" in the name then remove them... cd /system/app ls *schwimmer* then, if the only files shown are related to the wifistatus indicator app, remove them: rm ./*schwimmer*
Guest rico2k_uk Posted April 19, 2010 Report Posted April 19, 2010 why would you want to delete it? Its probably the MOST useful app ever. Without it your wifi is still running and wasting battery. You just wont know it.

You just wont know it. Got to be honest, I removed it as I found it more irritating than annoying! But I only switch wifi on when I'm actually going to use it, then it's off again as soon as I'm done. I can see why some people would find it useful though.

You just wont know it. I found installing Y5 a better option, it turns off your Wi-Fi connection, once you are out of range of your router, automatically . As with Dan I found the Wi-Fi Status monitor notifications irritating
Guest kendon Posted April 26, 2010 Report Posted April 26, 2010 go to the kitchen, cook a rom without it... can't be that hard.
