Guest Eran Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 I'm switching for an iPAQ to a SPV and i wanted to know if its well worth it. The opinions about these days really differ from one to another but i would like to know what each of you has in mind. The thing that really intrested me is the fact that its an itegrated PDA with a cellphone, does it really live up to my expectations or is it just a cellphone with some neat features? Regards Eran
Guest Carnivor Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 YES YES YES, Do what I did and throw away your phone and PDA and get a SPV, ok so there's a few bugs that are getting ironed out but it is deffiantly the best thing since sliced bread. Carry a PDA and phone in your pocket?? Not me i have a SPV !!!
Guest Gorskar Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 Yes, It is a great phone, but remember it is not a fully featured PDA, only has some PDA like features. eg text entry is via keypad (t9) No word/excel viewers yet (although there is a powerpoint viewer) But - it is small, takes SD cards, mp3 player, can add useful software, msn messenger ;) internet explorer, camera attachment for mms, etc etc Calander is useful - there is a feature to automatically change your profile to meeting when your calender says you are busy! If you are expecting it to do everything that an iPaq can then you will be disapointed. If your expectaions are more realistic then you will get alot out of this phone.
Guest h00pyfr00d Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 I actually DO carry and SPV and an iPAQ in my pocket....as well as a Nokia 3330 (Don't ask) and a Minolta Digital Camera. In my opinion, it depends on what you use your PDA for. I use mine totally to the max. I use pretty much all the apps and functionality. What the SPV doesn't do: No Pocket Word No Pocket Excel No Notes (Although someone's made one) No Tasks No popup keyboard No Stylus No Bluetooth No Nevo (IR remote control for Telly etc.) No Terminal Services No Citrix (If you use that) If you can live without these you should be fine.

Guest xanadu Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 If you like gadgets, and want more functionality than just a phone then YES, get an Orange SPV. I have an Ipaq as well as the SPV, and I spend more time using the SPV. No regrets at all.

Guest Big Ron - No Longer a Mem Posted February 5, 2003 Report Posted February 5, 2003 "I have an Ipaq as well as the SPV, and I spend more time using the SPV. " Reminds me of the time GW Bush took Tony Blair to his Texas ranch. "Y'know, I LOVE Texas. You can get on a train, ride all day and STILL be in Texas!" "Gee!" Blair replied. "I didn't know Virgin trains ran over here too!"
