Pulse mini, no GPS?

Hi

Just wondering about the Pulse mini. If it has no GPS, how come it is being offered a 30 day trial with Telenav navigation software according to the T Mobile site? Surely this would need GPS?

Coming april 2010, hmmmm i wonder if we can nab the o.s. from this? (i say we, i of course mean others who actually have a modicum of skill and knowledge to do this)

If it has Android 1.5 - pretty sure.

If it has Android 1.6 - maybe, but I don't think so.

If it has Android 2.0+ - No, we would need either the Pulse's 2.6.29+ kernel or the kernel source, as Android 2.0+ won't work with our current kernel version.

Only if it would have exactly the same hardware, it would be possible to grab the kernel too of the Pulse mini.

Only if it would have exactly the same hardware, it would be possible to grab the kernel too of the Pulse mini.

Its supposed to be getting 2.1

But can anyone verify whether it has GPS or not as I have read conflicting reports and as mentioned, the telenav trial leads me to think it has, unless they expect you to get an external GPS to run it.

It's coming with 1.5 or 1.6 and the software of 2.1 will be released shortly after.

Did a quick google search for the specs for the Mini and all of them say that it does come with GPS, though I do remember a review from the telecom show a few month back in Barcelona saying it didn't come with GPS.
