Guest yltay Posted April 22, 2010 Report Posted April 22, 2010 Hi Guys!! I've just successfully rooted my HTC Hero and installed the MoDaCo Custom Rom. I just love whatever my Hero can do for me now!! However, just to ask a newbie question here in the forum: Is it possible to upgrade my firmware from 1.5 to 1.6 or upwards? I would like to use the Google Map Turn to Turn GPS navigation app but from my knowledge it is only available for users using 1.6 and above. I've already rooted my Hero. Is there a way for me to do the upgrade of firmware? Thanks so much in advance!! Regards, yltay
Guest descenpet Posted April 22, 2010 Report Posted April 22, 2010 there is no 1.6 firmware for hero. if you want, you can try various other 2.1 roms. they are not as stable as MCR3.2 but if you don't like them or if you have any problem, there is always nandroid backup.
Guest yltay Posted April 22, 2010 Report Posted April 22, 2010 Thanks for replying!! I quite like MCR 3.2 though. Maybe I should just stick with it. Now that I can't use the Google Navigation app, does anyone has any recommendation on any turn to turn GPS navigation apps?
Guest volatile_ink Posted April 22, 2010 Report Posted April 22, 2010 Now that I can't use the Google Navigation app, does anyone has any recommendation on any turn to turn GPS navigation apps? Co-Pilot Live.
Guest yltay Posted April 22, 2010 Report Posted April 22, 2010 Co-Pilot Live. Thanks for the recommendation! I went online and googled it and I thought it is really a cool GPS application. The only problem with this is that they currently do not support asia country maps. So since I live in Singapore, I would not be able to use it. =( Nevertheless, I appreciate the recommendation! Hope to find an app that i can use! =)

They have a 99% street coverage, speed camera database and 100.000+ POI's in Singapore. http://sygic.com/index.php/en/maps.html
