Hi there I stumbled across this method when I was trying to flash back and I thought on the off chance I would try to download an original ROM extract it and then flash it with Grandprix and it worked

First download the .zip folder and unzip it

Heres what you do download the Stock ROM you want from here (Choose Vista) http://www.samsung-omnia.org/index.php?topic=4954.0

Now unpack it using EXEcutor

Install the modem drivers for your computer (Win 7 use Vista drivers)

Run the specified Grandprix software for your computer as an administrator

Select profile GRANDPRIX LV image

Click loader and locate to the folder where the ROM extracted too and select the first file

Now click PDA and open PDA

Now click CSC and open customer.csc

It is up to you if update phone part of the phone, if you do click Phone and select Phone

Now hit Detect

Plug your phone in to the computer make sure it is running ActiveSync mode now soft reset your device and away the downloader should go

Hi,

I want to flash my omnia to original official ROM. After i read your page, i downloaded your .zip folder you posted here. And i also downloaded the samsung i900 firmware from samsung website provided. The named are 'i900DZIA5_updater_xp'.

Then i try to unpack it using EXEcutor, but i got a message said:"This file is not"exe_firmware" for samsung SGH-I900". Then i click ok. the EXEcutor close itself. Why? Anything i wrong process?

Thank you.

Anthony

Choose Vista instead of XP and save that updater and follow the instructions it should work then, the Vista and XP options are as if you weren't going to unpack it but because you are unpacking it, it doesn't matter

Huh, so you guys aren't able to get back to an older or maybe an official rom? :/ No problems here migrating to whatever build i'm flashing it with ..

But sure, .. I understand that i could be a pain if your aren't able to downgrade your phone again! :/

Hi. I've tried your method but it didn't seem to work for me. Im using Windows vista to do this but after i press detect and connected my phone, the granprix program just stays there without any reaction. Did I do something wrongly?

*UPdate: now it shows the message" OnDeviceChange:DBT_DEVICEARRIVAL"

You need to press 'Start Downloading' or does it say PDA device not found? if it also says that, make sure you have the drivers installed, restart your computer and run Grandprix as administrator.

Hi Burky,

If your OS is XP do you still have to download the Vista Version of the zip file?
