Hi guys,

I've been trying to figure out how to get the GPS functionality of my Omnia (i910) working, but there's so much information scattered in different places that I'm having a hard time figuring out exactly what I have to do.

Could anyone provide me with a somewhat consolidated guide - whether I need to flash the phone and install custom ROMs (and if so, which one to choose?), additional software needed, etc? Thanks so much!

No need for a custom ROM but you need at least CF03 flashed;

Go to start>settings>personal>phone>services tab>GPS>change settings>enable "location on" >exit how ever you can.

Fire-up GPS app and go outside and wait at least 15 min. (or more)

There are apps (that can be found here) that speed-up lock time.

Thanks for the info!

I fixed the settings you mentioned (I was already running CF03), and lacking any GPS app, I downloaded Google Maps. However, it only seems to work when the phone's on a WiFi network - I'm assuming this is because it downloads the maps as it goes. Is there a specific app you would recommend that can run solely on the GPS unit? I'm assuming this would entail having to install an entire US map on my phone, which I'm fine with. Thanks again for your help!

iGo 8.3 and/or GarminXT both work out the box. Maps go wherever the apps are installed.

That's true about Google maps, it needs wifi or a data connection. The apps above work indipendent.
