Guest dguerre Posted April 27, 2010 Report Posted April 27, 2010 Hi, Does anybody have OpenVPN working on the Liquid?. As I can see it the kernel does not have the tun driver needed for openvpn to work. Is there an custom ROM that has this? any workarounds? Thanks for your help.

Also you should take a look at this topic The problem is those apps require openvpn to be already installed, following the directions in that topic does not work because I don't have tun.ko or can't find it.
Guest liquid_it Posted April 27, 2010 Report Posted April 27, 2010 The problem is those apps require openvpn to be already installed, following the directions in that topic does not work because I don't have tun.ko or can't find it. As you can find in some precedent posts, no tun module comes with stock kernel. I managed to compile a module which worked under the very first release of liquid firmware, but didn't with any version >= 1.008 (phone rebooted on insmod). Btw I think that hacking sources a bit you can compile a working tun.ko and use it under donut (we have its sources). There's no chance to have a tun module until we get Eclair kernel sources, hopefully this will happen some weeks after official firmware release.

I don't think I have the knowledge to compile a working tun.ko, I'll look into it anyhow and see what I can come up with. I found the tun.ko you compiled and was going to try it, but now that you tell me it doesn't work you saved me some time. Thanks for your help.
Guest dguerre Posted June 26, 2010 Report Posted June 26, 2010 Now that Eclair sources have been released, could somenone please try to compile the tun.ko module, I would like to get openvpn working. Thanks.
