As you can see in the first post: The root process will NOT... * enable you to flash your device with a custom recovery image that can be launched easily by just holding down the volume down button when powering on * enable you to have write access to the /system partition in normal use of the device so the answer is no. FAILED (command write failed (No such file or direc tory)) Step 1 complete - now use the bootloader menu to enter recovery mode. To do this, press the power button, wait a few seconds, then use the volume keys and power button to select the RECOVERY option. I'm assuming it didn't work =/ Is it safe to try the R3 method or has anything been changed on the phone? Is it safe to unplug my phone? Has anything happened? P Ok i've unplugged the usb now and the silver HTC logo has gone and now there is the the screen which lists the HBOOT version e.t.c. but the only option available is RUU Any ideas? Restart or what? Rooting and only installing app2sd on the original unbrand Desire rom will void my warranty too? Is it possible to reverse the ROOT and return the Desire in the warranty??
