Guest Intruder71 Posted July 19, 2010 Report Posted July 19, 2010 Think i need a slap... Just opened myback and it informs me my phone is rooted  so I guess I need to flash a cooked rom...
Guest Intruder71 Posted July 19, 2010 Report Posted July 19, 2010 ok think i am a little confused, do I need to install a rom manager like fake flash to load a cooked rom after following this tut or can I update the rom by renaming it to update.zip on root of sd card and doing it from recovery mode?
Guest tom_grant Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 I wish to use the root software for my HBOOT0.80 but everytime I try to download via Mediafire I get a mediafire "user is out of resources" message. I tried the download mirror and it downloads 700kb of 200+mb and claims its complete. I open it and its an incomplete file. Anyone know where else I can locate r6-desire-root-alt.zip? Thanks tom
Guest Ajthescot Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 same no files zip is corupt and first link is dead
Guest MCA_FR Posted July 21, 2010 Report Posted July 21, 2010 - ONLY if the above download is not suitable - if you have a bootloader version 0.80.xxxx or below AND a current ROM of 1.21.xxx.x or below - DOWNLOAD (MediaFire) / MIRROR (ROMraid / CoBlitz) - MD5: eb2ed5bca1334cacd70e4720f5b29960 The links don't work (or ZIP corrupt) Could you resend ? Thanks
Guest Brain75 Posted July 21, 2010 Report Posted July 21, 2010 Hi Paul. All of the links for the files are dead. Please reupload. Thanks
Guest quarros Posted July 21, 2010 Report Posted July 21, 2010 The alternative link is working again guys! I just downloaded it!
Guest MCA_FR Posted July 21, 2010 Report Posted July 21, 2010 The alternative link is working again guys! I just downloaded it! Hello, Are you speaking about "r6-desire-root-alt.zip" ? If yes, his size is greater than 200Mo ? I don't understand but i'm not alone to download a corrupted zip. If you can put this file on a server, we will download it... (I'm very interresting) Thanks (And sorry for my english)

Guest T3CHN0M4NC3R Posted July 23, 2010 Report Posted July 23, 2010 Hi, I'm a noob in rooting phones but have been following a few guides here and XDA developers forum. Appreciate much of Paul's efforts. I just tried the R6 rooting method for hboot 0.80 and it worked well error free for me. I used the very same microSD card that came with my phone as the "goldcard" because I bought my phone from a local GSM service provider. I tried it without the gold card and it didn't work, it just came out with permission/signature denied error. But so far I got surprised that I don't see English USA in the locale and lost the ability to sync my contacts with my Facebook contacts after I successfully rooted my phone. The "people" can't seem to find my "friends" in facebook and always return a "connection error" a while after i pressed the refresh button. Is this an error from the ROM or from facebook? :(
Guest T3CHN0M4NC3R Posted July 23, 2010 Report Posted July 23, 2010 btw... a lil noob question here: will i be able to remove/replace some files in the root using generic roms?
Guest andrew888 Posted July 24, 2010 Report Posted July 24, 2010 (edited) I dont seem to be able to root my Telstra Desire 8183 BRAVO UNKNOWN SHIP S-ON HBOOT-0.75.0000 MICROP-031d TOUCH PANEL-SYNT0101 RADIO-4.05.00.11 Mar 5 2010,21:12:15 I cant see any mention of 1.15.xxx or 1.21.xxx rom anywhere..... Guest Asselberghs Posted July 24, 2010 Report Posted July 24, 2010 Would this rooting mean you can use market enabler to get access to paid apps? from a country where theres no access? Will it cause problems when HTC desides to update Desire to Froyo?
Guest jipped Posted July 24, 2010 Report Posted July 24, 2010 Hi I followed your guide and it worked well. Only thing is I have an A8183 Desire Telstra branded and after following your guide my "About Phone" screen now reads the model as being A8181 and I can't connect to Rogers Canada 3G Any thoughts?

And for an additional note: boot loader 0.75 usually mean u have a build number of 1.15.XXX. Correct me if I'm wrong on this. I have tried both of the r6 items for bootloader 0.75 and 0.80 (im using windows 7 64) I get the following error message Erasing cache and rebooting in RUU mode... erasing 'cache'... OKAY ... Revise the 1st post guide and make sure u didn't edit any of the zip files (I did edit mine and I came up with this error). Make sure u didn't rename/edit/relocate any of those zip files. Or maybe you shouldn't use R6? (Not sure on this) Is it possible to run RUU_Bravo_Telstra_WWE_1.15.841.14_R4_Radio_32.30.0 0.28U_4.05.00.11_123851.exe without the phone being rooted? then try the r6 method?the RUU is a generic ROM. If your phone has a newer build version then it won't work. I don't think you need to do this unless you prefer to stay un-rooted or need to send the phone back for RMA or something.
