Guest AndyCr15 Posted April 28, 2010 Report Posted April 28, 2010 (edited) As the description says, I'm with Orange. I bought a Desire off a guy on XDA Devs which is on Orange, it has the Orange logo on the back and everything. I've rooted it and put the rooted ROM on the phone, I've upgraded the radio file too. Now I've just put my SIM in and it's telling me 'Network Locked'? Any ideas why it would do this? Tbh, I don't mind paying to unlock the phone, it just seems weird that it's telling me it's locked when it shouldn't. If I pay for the unlock code, will it definitely all then work? **EDIT** Okay, silly me, I should have searched the main thread. Sorry... Edited April 29, 2010 by AndyCr15
Guest AndyCr15 Posted April 29, 2010 Report Posted April 29, 2010 For those wanting the answer. Basically, start the whole rooting process again. Goldcard, flash testruu.exe and so on...

Guest miguelsanchez79 Posted May 6, 2010 Report Posted May 6, 2010 dont know why but even after re-root I got network locked msg I had enough. Done rooting process again about 50 times and cant get that done. None of methods seems to work when I run testruu it gives me an error. Golden card is fine as I rooted my phone with it for a 1st time. What else can I do? still have network locked msg. Do you now if purchasing unlock code from HTCCode will help? thanks for any help.
Guest franciswills Posted May 6, 2010 Report Posted May 6, 2010 I had the same issue and wanted to unlock anyway so I used http://www.htcunlock.com/ and after entering the code they gave me (in 15 mins) twice (as they said I probably would have to), my phone is unlocked and got me out of the problem you're having. I actually tried using htccode, paid the guy 15EUR only to find out that he wanted more money for a Desire root (even though it says *any* phone on the front page). That annoyed me hugely so I used htcunlock.com which was great and did *exactly* what it said it would. Now I'm just trying to fight my money back out of htccode.com. I even spoke to their (htccode.com) live support and they told me I'd have my money back within an hour which has not happened. Good luck with yours.
Guest AndyCr15 Posted May 7, 2010 Report Posted May 7, 2010 Yep, see here and here :D I used htcsimunlock.com and got 3 unlock codes for £35, which is pretty great value. They worked and I got great service from them when I paid for 3 with only 2 phones available at the time... very responsive. I'm glad to see it looks like Paul's removed the HTCcode.com links from the top of the forums. Thanks Paul! :P
Guest franciswills Posted May 7, 2010 Report Posted May 7, 2010 Managed to get my money back out of htccode.com - It took two emails and some arguments over their 'live support' thing and I had to threaten to file a paypal dispute. Really bad. Don't use them.
Guest jackdaniels_lee Posted May 7, 2010 Report Posted May 7, 2010 (edited) Its simple guys, DONT FLASH THE RADIO UPDATE! its not compatable with the Orange Desire :P If you have already flashed it just flash back to a "Generic" htc rom that includes a radio update.
