Guest moriden Posted April 29, 2010 Report Posted April 29, 2010 Hi, This is my first post - so bare with me. My pulse has recently been causing me a lot of grief. When i get a call come in i can answer it, and it appears to connect. The 'call time' increases as you'd expect and it visually looks like its on a call. Unfortunately i can't hear ANYTHING - not an empty line, not static, and certainly not the person calling me. Afterward i've spoken to the people who called me, and they experienced the same symptoms - it connects, but they can't hear anything. When i call out the same problem. Oddly i can't turn on speaker phone anymore - this option is now 'grayed out' when i'm on a call. I've checked the basics: 1. the in call volume is on full. 2. I have signal strength (can use the net, and send/receive SMS etc) 3. tried turning the phone on and off, pulling battery out, cleaning sim card etc. I've also tried the more advanced: 1. factory reset 2. wiping and installing the december update again 3. wiping and installing both the vanilla and t-mobile roms from this site (1.7 versions) 4. and finally wiping and installing the new 1.8 rom. SOoooooo, is there anything else i can do/try before sending this back to T-mobile? Hope you can help, Ben S.

But the other person can not hear me. This makes sense as to why I can't put it on speaker phone. Any ideas how i might change this setting? FYI - i put a blackberry headphone/mic jack into my phone before this happened to see if it would work. It didn't - but i'm wondering if this might have triggered it. Ben S.

You have already tried everything that I would have suggested so there is no question in my mind that it is a hardware fault. Reinstall the december update to remove all traces of custom roms and hand it in at a tmobile shop. Good luck
