Hello,

Can you quickly explain me how to use it from the step where I have my GoldCard to the step with me turning my HTC Desire rooted for the first time?

Thanks

I have modified adb to set the execution bit correctly.

You will no longer have to use Linux to root or get into recovery menu.

Download the following file and extract it to your pushfiles directory.

Sounds good but could you now please give a word for word instruction for how to root using your process for us weirdo's who are rubbish at this please?!

Many thanks for your work.

Follow this guide:

http://www.machackpc.com/headline/how-to-r...android-os-2-1/

Instead of Step 10,

extract pushfiles.zip onto your Windows computer. Extract the files from my initial post into the same folder.

Connect the phone, wait a little so Windows gets some time to find it.

Run recovery-windows.bat.

Continue from Step 13.

I don't have access to the files right now, so I can't mirror them. Sorry :P

Maybe somebody else can mirror the files?

I've already done it in my tutorial.

Here's the link to the file, anyway.

I think that's just a browser cookie error. Just close your browser and come back here and try the links again. Or try it in a different browser that you're not using (IE, Firefox, Chrome etc.)

Please read the very first post in the Paul' thread on rooting, everything is well explained there.

I know it says I NEED to, but not why? I actually thought this only applied for oem versions such as Orange, T-mobile, etc...

Hi Paul or whoever can help me for at my wits end. Having been at this since 5 a.m. this morning here in the USA now 4p.m. and can't get past the red triangle screen no matter what I do. I double click the extracted with winrar windows bat file and all that happens is the terminal flashes across me computer in seconds and not sure why. I am truly stuck and any help would be greatly appreciated. Not sure if this is the reason, but Paul has taken down the 3 original file for rooting, aka, the test file I need, yet I seemed to have no problems bypassing that step and am no novice or expert at Android Rooting yet feeling pretty not smart now. I missed this thread, apologies for duplication. Trying to make it easier for everyone, I've used a variety of sources to make an all in one guide -

http://www.lanarchy.co.uk/showthread.php?t=12105

I've tried to be clear it's not my work and I've just copied and pasted. I've linked to credits I've used (twice). Do you think it's cheeky? I'll take it down if anyone objects, I'm just trying to make it easier for people.
