Oh does this mean folk like me that don't mind having all the Orange stuff on the phone have no real need to root?

hope it does come into play because android devices really need this, but note also the new Samsung galaxy due out soon, and HTC droid incredible in America have internal storage i think and doing it officially for other android handsets might dive into there marketing plans, but I remember reading something similar to this when I 1st got my goggle G1 so don't hold your breath. because even though it was mentioned it never came into existence, unless you had a rooted device.

This is a different situation, back then it was only a higher up at Google saying it might happen. They have actually updated the developer website to say that it is in a future build now they only do that when it is really done, we just have to wait to see which release it comes with.
