Guest chopperthedog Posted May 3, 2010 Report Posted May 3, 2010 (edited) Can some one give me a step by step guide on how to configure Remote desktop, I have Vista Basic, WinMo 6.1, and a Belkin router. Could this guide be in idiot form please? I use my omnia to control my train layout and I did a little tutorial on a train site. It should help. http://cs.trains.com/trccs/forums/t/169076.aspx Under screen shot of pc is remote desktop setup. good day. Edited May 3, 2010 by chopperthedog
Guest burky1993 Posted May 3, 2010 Report Posted May 3, 2010 No longer matters. After extensive research on the Microsoft website, Vista Basic will only do outgoing remote connections (Log on to other computers) and will not do incoming remote connections (Will not allow to be a host computer) I am very dis-heartened at this, as all I wanted it for was a form of remote control to control my iTunes during parties etc.
Guest chopperthedog Posted May 3, 2010 Report Posted May 3, 2010 boo. I did not know that. I have no vista experience. good to know. I use it with xp and 7 and works nicely. good day.

Guest rickhamilton620 Posted May 4, 2010 Report Posted May 4, 2010 I'm debating wether to go back to XP untill I get my new laptop (Which will hopefully run Windows 7 :P) Yeah, that Vista Basic version ends up burning a lot of people due to its utter lack of features. I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
