Guest TSCRYPTO Posted April 2, 2003 Report Posted April 2, 2003 Saw this mentioned on smartphony.org too...interesting.
Guest amo Posted April 2, 2003 Report Posted April 2, 2003 Requirements: Minimum Device Memory 16 MB - its gonna run slooooow...
Guest madu Posted April 2, 2003 Report Posted April 2, 2003 PDF has never been 'fast' or memory-friendly... It's like a cow on my work PC [i know it's a shite PC, but still]. Can you imagine scrolling a half-decent document? Will be at a proper workstation by the time it loads... And it seems there's no 'narrow screen' optimisation (don't think it's possible either). But hey, it's there and it prob. works too!!
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted April 2, 2003 Report Posted April 2, 2003 The Repligo beta has a very useful "Flow view" option. Basically a word wrap, it works very well though on all formats making them very readable on the SPV's small screen...
Guest fraser Posted April 2, 2003 Report Posted April 2, 2003 Carrying on from madukrainian's comments, I'm also thinking that PDF isn't all that great for small displays like this. The point of PDF is that an author can define how a document should look, and have the exact same result on different platforms. This pretty much rules out narrow screen optimisation. But it would be useful if you absolutly had to check something while on the move.
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted April 2, 2003 Report Posted April 2, 2003 Like the HTC Canary manual? ;p
Guest madu Posted April 4, 2003 Report Posted April 4, 2003 Like the HTC Canary manual? ;p HAHAHAHAHAHAHA  ;)
Guest Rob.P Posted April 4, 2003 Report Posted April 4, 2003 Has Repligo got a smartphone version is the one you guys have played with the Pocket PC version?
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted April 4, 2003 Report Posted April 4, 2003 Repligo is in SmartPhnoe beta atm. Some of us are testing it, me included. It really is impressive (and they are going to incorparate a feature i suggested too )
Guest Rob.P Posted April 4, 2003 Report Posted April 4, 2003 Quality stuff, I look forward to that as I deal with PDF's quite a lot, always need a portable document of some sort. Do they have an ETA on it?
Guest Syvwlch Posted April 4, 2003 Report Posted April 4, 2003 Repligo is, after mNotes (but that's cuz I use Lotus Notes at work), the best piece of software on my phone today. Needs automatic doc conversion (keeping docs in sync with the PC/web version) but it's just fantastic as it is.
Guest dcho Posted April 11, 2003 Report Posted April 11, 2003 Our tentative release date for RepliGo is next Wednesday, April 16th. Guest Coolboy1982 Posted April 15, 2003 Report Posted April 15, 2003 We received your feedback. You will be contacted via email with instructions on how to get the discount. Cheers! That wasn't meant to be a complaint anyway, as I'm sure you get lots of emails anyway and can't reply to all of them. I was just worried about saving 12,50$ ;-) Student budget, you know...
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 RepliGo will sell for a special introductory price of $24.95. Introductory price? Don't get me wrong about this as from what I have heard about this app, it does look like I may well be buying it. My concern is that this will be the most expensive piece of software for the phone to date, even with the introductory price. I understand about development costs and charges if you sell through handango etc I just hope it does not deter too many people from buying this. Just my thoughts and not ment to offend. Ashley
