Help swiching roms

I just got the N-1 went from g1 to cliq now n1 bought the phone pre rooted and running CyanogenMod 5.0.6 n-1, kernel 2.6.33.2 i am trying to got to the latest version of modaco on handlerexploits recommendation i did a nandroid and read that all that the only requirement was custom recovery running amond ra 1.7 so started to flash got boot looped then read about changing to ere27 superboot and stock rom from xda Roms - Kernels - Radios *Links* but still got boot loop and now i am reduced asking for help i'm not too used to this forum so im having trouble finding my way around here to spend time reading on this topic if this has already addressed please point me to the correct thread thanks to all the who did the work before and all those to come i hate to ask for this i'm accustomed to finding out for myself.
