Hi!

Is it mistake or Liquid E will have FM radio enabled?

http://www.androidguys.com/2010/05/03/acer...ontract-rogers/

The phone has five home screen panels, Quick Contacts to go between the phone’s contacts and social networks, Live wallpapers, a new keyboard layout, and a 3.5-inch WVGA touchscreen. The handset also has a 5MP camera, Wi-Fi, GPS, up to 32GB microSD slot, FM radio, and a custom UI built by Acer.

No, there is no FM Radio in the Liquid.

This was discussed already and you can find by searching forum that Liquid HAS FM Radio Receiver and if it is written that Liquid E will have FM radio it just means that Acer will enable it :P

Yeah I saw that in some of the news announcements too, hope it's not a typo. It's technically possible, and makes sense for Acer to just enable it. Can't wait for the official 2.1 ROM for my A1.

Another thing is that in Froyo aka Android 2.2 FM radio support will be enabled by default. Problem now for manufactures is that they have to rewrite bluetooth stack and make own adjustments to the OS no matter if it is 1.5 (LG has radio in this version), 1.6 or 2.1. Version 2.2 will fix this, but we are still waiting for 2.1 :P and Froyo knocks on Nexus door :D

Well, the OP asked if it was enabled. I said no :D

To be clear:

The Liquids hardware has FM radio, but it is not activated/enabled/missing driver....whatever.

If you reread the OP, you'll see he was asking about the liquid E which hasn't been released yet and as such you have no information about whether it is enabled in this model or not.

Since the hardware is capable on the liquid, it seems highly likely that Acer will keep it in the liquid E and enable it

any ROM's have fm working

nope, the bluetooth chip supports it but until the commands to activate and use it gets known nobody can use it.

there are other devices out there that have same chip and have the FM radio working but they dont want to share the device specific commands to use it.

acer could if they wanted but they most likely dont want to.

wich is why im moving to another phone that has FM radio and chucks the liquid on the missus instead.

Thanks for the heads up!

This is what I thought....sad but true.

To all those involved, thanks, this feature would make my day, or at least try your ROM.

It's weird, but Acer support said me, that there is no FM in liquid (but I don't believe them )
