just bought a HERO on ebay and it seems to be reported as stolen as it doesnt recognize my sim card.

will flashing new Rom unlock it?

I dont think so, as the IMEI is blocked by the carriers, You better get onto Ebay and get it sorted out :P

Have you phoned up who ever it is branded by to see what they can do?

Report who ever you bought it off to e-bay for selling stolen goods. If you payed with PayPal also contact them and you'll probably get your money back as well.

just spoke to the seller. he seems to be innocent as he's got hero as part exchange for console. he runs console modding business and probably did not know what he gets. will ship it back and wait for refund.

BTW does anyone have hero ideally rooted for sale? :-)

+1 It could have been just locked to a different network than yours....had you tried an unlock?

Phone is locked to orange and has original orange ROM so it should recognize my orange simcard.
