Guest RXWatcher Posted May 5, 2010 Report Posted May 5, 2010 Is this specific to Desire ROMs? Thanks a lot!
Guest Biliskner Posted May 26, 2010 Report Posted May 26, 2010 hmm does this work at all? I tried for my USB-bricked Desire and does not work using fastboot or blue android recovery menu...
Guest jdouce Posted May 26, 2010 Report Posted May 26, 2010 only custom recovery image ... to get them to flash... otherwise it fails
Guest afiorillo Posted May 26, 2010 Report Posted May 26, 2010 hmm does this work at all? I tried for my USB-bricked Desire and does not work using fastboot or blue android recovery menu... "Signing" is not HTC signing.
Guest squrl Posted May 26, 2010 Report Posted May 26, 2010 (edited) IMO Autosign from XDA is better, no need for linux, no need to rename. Only requires JRE installed. Edited May 26, 2010 by squrl
Guest jdouce Posted May 26, 2010 Report Posted May 26, 2010 probably i made this after figuring it out myself .. and having used linux for less then a week
Guest Biliskner Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 "Signing" is not HTC signing. :D lol? what's the difference? If it's "signing" but not htc's signing, then it's not "signing" at all! (what is it really signing if not HTC?). Really confused
Guest squrl Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 There is a huge difference. For example: by default, if you want to flash an update.zip, it will be impossible in Desire's standard recovery, cause stock recovery only accepts files signed with HTC's certificate. Since we won't ever have HTC's keys, we need custom recovery image which allows us to flash files signed with non-HTC keys.
