worse 3g signal after orange rom flash

hi, i've only had my desire a little over a week, but took the decision a couple of days ago to remove all teh orange branding and go back to the generic rom. since then I beleive that my 3g signal strength has not been as good as it was previously. i'm playing with the phone more than I did so it could just be me and ive not really noticed it before but i now see the phone with a little h sometimes instead of 3g whereas I didnt' see this before (also not seen it with 3g+ since the flash either)

anybody else notice a different on signal strength (not that the rom flash should effect it) ?

I have the Telstra version unmodified and get the 'H' vs. getting the 3g. Not sure why, but it works pretty well.

One of the modifications Orange has made to the ROM is the data signal display... On the generic ROM it displays 3G when on 3G and H when on HSDPA, on the Orange ROM it displays 3G+ when on HSDPA...

Shouldnt be any difference in signal strength as both ROMS have the same radio version...

Oh, and btw... Generic ROM is sooooo much better than the butchered Orange one! Got a replacement coming in the morning as bricked mine rooting, and will be making it generic immediately (not gonna try and root it until the method along with accompanying MCR has matured!)...
